If you are a newcomer or a visitor to NYC, it is a must to do some research on the driving rules and guidelines so you won’t get into trouble. Car parking is one of the things you should read about. Before, the old parking meter can only be paid by putting quarters but now, the muni-meter accepts prepaid parking cards and credit cards. To help you work your way around NYC car parking, take a look at the information below.

Using Muni-Meter Parking

Muni-meter parking is very easy to use. You simply insert the coin, parking card, or your credit card to pay for your parking space. You input the parking space code or location and then key-in the number of hours you intend to park there. Once you get the receipt, simply display it on your dashboard if you are using a Pay and Display Muni-meter.
For NYC car parking prices on parking cards, you can buy them in $20, $50 and $100 denominations. These cards aren’t refillable and you should dispose of them once they are emptied out. Parking cards are the best ways to pay for your parking space, as you may tend to overuse your credit card.
